glomerulonephritis

Dear sir

  Ill keep it short

  Im 28 yrs male , am a doc myself

  Had chronic diarrhea (from Jan to April '09)

  It did not respond to any antibiotic

  Got worked up and found raised creatinine - 2.5 mg/dl

  went to maximum 2.8 mg/dl Also protenuria

  biopsy showed glomerulonephritis and interstitial nephritis

  IF - C3 IgM,A,G +

  was with hypocomplementemia

  colonoscopy - ulcerative colitis

  Now on steroids and immunosuppresants(cellcept500 BD)

  Slowly creat has come down to 1.6mg/dl No proteinuria

  My problem is ----

   What was it - Will i ever come back to normal?

   Is this CKD? 5 months have passed(I dont have hypertension / diabetes)

   Will it progress?

   Prognosis?

The biopsy picture is the key to both your questions. What was the exact biopsy report? How many glomeruli were seen in the sample? How many were viable? How many sclerosed? What was the morphology of the viable glomeruli? What was the histology of the tubules? How much interstitium was involved? What kind of cells infiltrated the interstitium? What was the blood vessel involvement?



More details are also needed on the IF.



Please discuss your biopsy with your treating Nephrologist and a renal pathologist, preferably together.
