foamy urine with mild right side back ache, no urination discomfort

Question
Hi, I'm female 34 years, 104 lbs, 5' - 4 6/10", latin american, not sportive but walk some and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia recently. Have been working in an office for three weeks now.

I have noticed foam in my urine for a couple of weeks. I didn't think it was important because I do NOT feel any pain or symptom previous to, during or after urinating or . But a few days ago I felt some discomfort on the right. I didn't associate with the kidney until last night that, while trying to "massage" my lower back myself felt a pain similar to the one I got several years ago when I had a pielonephrytis. Although, the pain is mild and mainly towards the end of the evening. What should I do?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Answer
Hi Paula,

Thanks for your question on "Allexperts".

Foamy urine is sometimes associated with protein in the urine. Please get your urine checked for the presence of albumin.

Regarding your back pain, it would be impossible for me to venture a diagnosis without examining you. Please ask your primary care physician for an opinion.

Sincerely,

Dr. Shah
