Protein in urine

Question
My husband has  protein in his urine of 300 (3+) he also has a nodule on his adrenal gland & has developed high blood pressure. He was   put on a blood pressure pill & see's a heart doctor & now a kidney doctor. His wbc was 11.9 which is out of range. He recently had kidney stones & had them blasted. His creatinine   is 1.01 which is normal. All his other blood test was in range. He now has to do another 24 hour urine. The last two he had he didnt refrigerate them. Would that make a difference? He also works nights & is up alot. He is lucky if he sleeps 6 hours a day. I am concern & not sure if I should just let  him see a kidney specialist. The uroglist check to see if the adrenal  gland was active & it was not. Please help because I dont know if I should just take him into Manhattan for this

Answer
Hi Donna,

Thanks for asking my help on "Allexperts".

If the lab had asked you to refrigerate the sample and you didn't, there is a problem. All labs have different kits and regimens. So, please follow your lab's instructions.

It seems that a Nephrologist does not have an active role in his management right now. Please continue following the other doctors' advice.

Sincerely,

Dr. Shah
